National Wildflower Centre to the Halewood Triangle

Sky Ride Local in Knowsley

Starting at the award winning National Wildflower Centre an oasis of conservation set in the tranquil Victorian surroundings of Court Hey Park, Knowsley the ride heads out onto quiet suburban roads until joining up to the excellent Trans Pennine Trail (Route 62). The ride continues the exquisite Halewood Park. This is perfect surroundings for a drink and relax near to the beautiful ponds and wildlife.

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.

Additional Information

Helmets must be worn by all under 18's regardless of ride level.
Please make sure your bike is in good working order and bring equipment with you to repair punctures, Ride Leaders are there to help but are not responsible for your bike.
All rides leave at the time stated you must arrive early Ride Leaders will not wait. 

Children under the age of 5 do not need to register and must be in a BSA approved child seat, trailer or tag-a-long.

  I'm a social rider, I cycle for pleasure and for a bit of fitness. I am a naturalist and love to cycle to places that I do a bit of wildlife spotting. I do like to share my knowledge, so feel free to ask me about wildlife things.
• Nancy Waine This is my first year as a Sky Leader and am so glad I have the chance to share rides with local people. I have been back into cycling for almost 12 months and am loving it. We try to get out out a couple of times a week, cycling canal tow paths and disused rail lines... I love the flat (although I am getting better at hills!). I have participated in a few Sky rides and they are fabulous for gaining confidence and finding new places to cycle in the local area.

   Really lovely ride! Grew up about 3 miles away and had no idea this gorgeous pathway existed. Great way to spend a sunny Sunday morning, cycling with 12 year old son and new cycling buddies! I'll definitely be going again during the summer holidays by myself and have already booked to do this ride again.
