Sky Ride Local in Sheffield

Come and join us for a gentle relaxing ride by the River Don from the Niagara Conference and Leisure Centre out of Coronation Park in Oughtibridge.  The route is not completely traffic free as there is a small section of quiet access road to negotiate before we get to Beeley Woods, but from there to Coronation Park we can forget about the cars and focus on the views.
Once one the path through the woods there is plenty of wildlife to keep your eyes out for, but if you are lucky you might just hear the tapping of a woodpecker or the cries of ‘How’s that?’ as we pass the cricket pitch at the War Memorial sports ground.
At Coronation Park there will be time for us to have a rest or if you are inclined a play on the swings, before we start our journey back to the Niagara Conference and Leisure Centre.
Not cycled for a while and looking for an easy way to get back in the saddle? Fancy a fun way to get your friends or kids riding? Our Easygoing rides are great for building confidence for all abilities and ages along relaxed, mostly traffic-free routes. Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Paul Truin Took up cycling in 2011 and have never looked back, apart from checking out for the odd tram, etc, since!
I was 60 years old then, and now I feel that I am fitter and have more stamina than when I was 40.
Apart from cycling to work, 26 miles return trip, when possible, I also cycle for pleasure.
After trying a couple of cycle/camping trips to Edale, I spread my wings a little and completed Hadrian's Cycleway in 2012 and the next year cycled from Sheffield to Amsterdam. I loved it, and look forward to many more adventures.
Another biking highlight for me was the crossing of a very busy Paris one summer's evening. Fantastique!
  • Efe Eruero Efe Eruero Hi my name is Efe (You say it like the F.A Cup),

I started cycling again in October 2013 after being on a Cycle boost scheme run in partnership with Inmotion. Since then I have completed both my level 1 and level 2 Skyride leader awards and regularly cycle to work which is a round trip of 24 miles. When I got back on the bike after being out of the saddle for over 15 years I never would have envisage doing what I am doing now.

Looking forward to your company and sharing your stories, whether it is your first time or you are a seasoned pro, the aim is to have as much fun as possible.

    See you soon Efe
