If you’ve been riding a road bike for a while, and perhaps been thinking about joining a cycling club, these rides – brand new for 2012 – are for you. The prospect of a speedy pace over twenty to fifty miles, and the strong likelihood of some hills thrown in along the way, means our Ride Strong Plus rides are not for the faint-hearted.

Come and join us for a gorgeous thirty mile ride on a great figure of eight route. Within just two miles we'll be in beautiful rolling countryside to the south and west of Milton Keynes, passing through many pretty and well-kept villages. But the real jewel in the crown is on the return stretch where the route passes through Woburn Park. Your teeth mightt be chattering going over the cattle grids, but the reward is seeing hundreds of deer roaming the parkland.

Additional Information

As these are adult only rides, designed for cyclists progressing from the standard Ride Strong level, the pace of the ride could increase to 15mph at the discretion of the Ride Leader.

Helmets must be worn by all under 18's regardless of ride level.
Please bring equipment with you to repair punctures, Ride Leaders are there to help but are not responsible for your bike.
All rides leave at the time stated you must arrive early Ride Leaders will not wait.

• John Feltham I have lived in MK for 25 years.I would classify myself as a practical cyclist. I'm now retired but I used to cycle to work and in my leisure time I was, and still am, a touring cyclist. I like cycling because it is an easy way of getting about whether it's for shopping, going to the library or just a companionable activity. Also it's not difficult to get good at it. People worry about cycling on roads but I think that provided you do it with confidence and can be easily seen then it's as safe as most activities. In fact, the more people that cycle on roads the safer it becomes for everyone. Faster than walking but not too fast to miss things and you can stop anywhere. And being in the open and not cocooned in a car, you get to meet other people.

  I've been cycling all my life, from paper-rounds as a kid, to charity rides in my late teens (London to Brighton etc), a few cycle tours in Europe in my early 20's, then weekly rides with the Cyclists' Touring Club and Team MK club runs and Time Trials.
  For the last five years I've been a Bikeability instructor, teaching adults and Northants school children. If I can make a journey by bike or car, I choose the bike!
  I've been a Skyride leader since 2011, and take a Social Cycling Group to a cafe, usually on Tuesdays when I'm not working. Let's get cycling!
