Bike Type You probably don’t want to drag your road bike across bumpy trails. Maybe you want to make the most of the suspension on your mountain bike. This helps you match your ride to your bike.

Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Graham Farrington
  • Mike Nuttall Hello and welcome.
I have pretty much always owned a bike. But like many, my old racer spent a lot of time in the garage, and the spiders spent more time in the saddle than I did.

2 years ago, I was lucky enough to be accepted as a Ride Leader and decided to start riding to work to build my confidence and fitness. I now ride the 10 miles each way every day and love it. I still puff and wheeze up the hill on the old railway line just like the original engines that took that route, but every week it gets easier. The views from the saddle and the fabulous wildlife make a great change from the rear bumper I used to look at when driving. I'm also saving £30 in LPG each week too!

People on the rides will get to know me as a bit of a gasbag and always happy to join in a bit of banter - these rides are for fun after all !

See you on a ride soon

    Mike
  • Ross Friend A cyclist of many years experience, I enjoy cycling as a stress free way to travel, a fantastic way to meet people, experience the country side and get some exercise all at the same time.
Have owned and ridden tandems, recumbents, mountain bikes, fixed wheel bikes and even a uni cycle. My philosophy on cycling is very much "its all about the journey, not how fast you get there".
