Join us on this 10 mile scenic route which follows mainly wide tracks towards the historical high point of the ride - Caesar's Camp. Meet the Ride Leaders

  • Col Davies Hi everyone! my name is Col and I'm looking forward to meeting you all, out and about on my second season as Sky Ride Leader.

MY NEXT RIDE - Beaconhill Bonanza

WEATHER - London and SE - Saturday:

Rain will continue to clear from remaining areas during the early morning, with some brighter spells developing, although perhaps remaining cloudy with a risk of rain near southern coasts. Maximum Temperature 16 °C.

RIDE RESTRICTIONS: Unfortunately children under 11 and/or trailers/tag along bikes will NOT be allowed to participate.

ABOUT THE RIDE: Apparently the weather will be fairly sunny however, after the the heavy rain today the terrain has potential to be muddy, therefore the associated risks may require careful negotiation in places. The route itself is undulating with a couple of steep climbs, there is also a long and fairly steep descent that even when free wheeling down you will gather momentum.

    RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT TO BRING:
Bike - with both brakes that work, tyres with good tread and that are pumped up.
Helmet - compulsory for under 18's, recommended for all participants.
Water - to keep you hydrated.
Waterproofs - just in case it rains, please ensure that trousers wont get caught up in the chain.
    Warm layer - for afterwards.
Snack or Money to buy one.
Small Rucksack - to keep it all in.
A flask with a hot beverage is good morale boost on a blustery autumn day too!

Rain or shine the ride is still on!

    ABOUT ME
2012 is my second year as a Sky Ride Leader and I want to encourage many people to get back onto their bikes. I hope to create a safe and pleasant learning environment, where I can assist people in gaining the health benefits associated with cycling and more importantly to have safe enjoyable FUN!!!

So given the right coaching this could be a new lease of life for those cyclists lost to the rat race, and maybe the start of a new hobby for those just starting out. So come along and join in on a Sky Ride where we hope to make this an enjoyable experience for all. I look forward to seeing you soon.
