Breeze Bike Rides in Bradford

London 2012 has proved to be one of most significant and game-changing times for women’s cycling and we want to celebrate this unprecedented era and invite you all to Breeze in the Park. The Breeze network will be transforming Lister Park into a bike riding haven as we encourage women to take to their bikes with friends and children and join others to celebrate this success. 

Sneaky peak of what’s in store:

Meeting place - Outside the Pavilion Cafe at Lister Park, North Park Road, BD9 4NR. Come and ride around the park at your leisure and come and meet our fabulous Breeze champions. There will be a mass start at 10am - so come and join lots of other women at the start of this great day!

Lister Park is one of Bradford’s largest parks, and is situated in the Manningham area of the city. In 2006 it was given the prestigious award of Britain’s Best Park, and was also nominated for Best Park in Europe. It has a network of wide smooth paths which are perfect for cycling and lots of interesting things to see whilst exploring the park by bike.  These include the botanical gardens, the Mughal Water Gardens and the magnificent Cartwright Hall, join the Breeze in the Park and you’ll be exploring one of the gems in Bradford’s crown.

Bikes to borrow

There'll be a number of bikes provided by the youth service which will be available to use free of charge.  The number of bikes available is limited so where possible please come with your own bike to avoid disappointment.

Cafe 

The Pavillion Cafe will be open during the activities offering drinks and food, ice cream and cake as well as a place to relax after your ride and find out more about other Breeze rides that are running in Bradford.  

Childrens play area

Located by the start of the Breeze in the Park Rides, adjacent to the Boating Pavillion Cafe, this is the perfect place to keep the kids entertained while you enjoy a ride around the route or a coffee in the cafe with other Breeze riders.

Parking

There is free parking on both North Park Road and within the Park.  The Park parking can be accessed from North Park road.

Toilets

There are toilets (including disabled) on Oak Lane that cost 20p. Free toilets are available in the boating pavilion & Cartwright Hall.

Firth Cycles are providing a free Dr Bike clinic – with a female mechanic. www.firthcycles.com

As we're really close to the boating lake, anyone wanting a break from the bike can switch their pedals for a pedalo on the lake.
