Mayor of London's Guided Rides - Terms & Conditions for Participants

  • Each participant must book in advance to join a guided ride
  • Each participant must provide their own bike, which must be in roadworthy condition
  • Rides will leave promptly at the given departure time. We regret we are unable to wait for latecomers
  • Participants are responsible for their own safety at all times
  • Participants under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times and their safety will be the responsibility of that adult
  • Participants will be expected to be able to cycle at an average speed of 8mph for the duration of the ride. The rides may stop at certain points to re-group and for instructions from marshals
  • Participants are reminded that the guided rides will take place on public highways amongst traffic and that the rules of the Highway Code should be followed at all times. Participants must be confident and capable of riding on the road
  • Participants must adhere to the instructions of the marshals at all times
  • Marshals reserve the right to refuse participation to any rider
  • Cycling can be strenuous and riders must be in good health. Participants who have any doubt about their health or have a medical condition that could be affected by exercise, particularly a heart condition, should consult their doctor before participating
  • Participants should consider wearing a cycle helmet. Participants should carry suitable means of identification clearly showing their name and the contact number of a relative or friend who should be contacted in emergency
  • Sky and Transport for London are not liable for injury, loss or damage caused or sustained as a result of taking part, howsoever arising, nor can they accept any liability for any changes made to the ride for safety reasons or as otherwise planned through circumstances beyond their control
  • Sky and Transport for London and their agents may take photographs of the ride and Participants for publicity purposes. By registering to participate in the ride either on your own behalf or upon behalf of any other rider including those under the age of 18 years, you agree that photographic images of you, containing you, or of those under the age of 18 years upon whose behalf you have registered, may be used by the Sky and Transport for London for publicity and statistical purposes.

  • By volunteering to marshal you are giving permission for your data to be shared with the London Cycling Campaign, who will use this data to enable the ride leader to contact you by email
  • Each volunteer ride marshal must register in advance
  • Each volunteer ride marshal must provide their own bike, which must be in roadworthy condition
  • Please make sure you arrive at the time given to you by the ride leader. Rides will leave promptly at the given departure time
  • Volunteer ride marshals are responsible for their own safety at all times
  • All volunteer ride marshals must be aged 16 or over
  • Volunteer ride marshals will be expected to be able to cycle at an average speed of 8mph for the duration of the ride. The rides may stop at certain points to re-group and for instructions from marshals
  • Volunteer ride marshals are reminded that the guided rides will take place on public highways amongst traffic and that the rules of the Highway Code should be followed at all times.
